ABOUT
Bernd is a European Patent Attorney with more than 20 years of experience in
the life science industry. After having spent many years in academic and industry research (microbiology, drug discovery), he entered into the world of intellectual property.
Bernd spent his entire IP life in the biopharmaceutical industry and was heading the intellectual property department of one of Germans largest biotech companies for more than 10 years. He has vast experience in IP processes, IP management and IP-related business matters.
Hands on experience include:
- Strategic patent drafting and prosecution
- Opposition and appeal proceedings
- In- and out-licensing activities
- M&A, acquisisitions and divestures
- Finance transcations (start ups, financing rounds, IPOs)
- US interference proceedings and litigation
- Pharmaceutical drug exclusivities
Born 1969, married, three grown up kids. If you don't find Bernd at his desk, he is probably out somewhere in the woods, walking the dog or searching for geocaches.
